Weekend Seminar recap: Hallways, Elbows and Espinous
This past weekend we had the pleasure of hosting Jeff Espinous for an action-packed seminar in Norwich that brought together a strong showing of students from a variety of clubs.
Jeff began martial arts at just five years old and went on to train in a remarkable array of systems—from Viet Vo Dao and Savate to Muay Thai, Ju-jutsu, and Pencak Silat. He eventually founded his own style—Kali Sikaran (now Kali Silat Evolution)—and holds senior roles in major FMA federations. His resume includes 7th Dan rankings in Kenpo Ju Jitsu and Kickboxing, and high levels in Ju-jutsu, Savate, and multiple silat arts
Across the two days, Jeff delivered sharp, adaptable training – layered with drills that encouraged fluidity and smart application.
A highlight for many was the contextual work – moving beyond the gym space and into the hallway to train in tighter quarters. It was an effective way to bring awareness to how movement, tactics, and space management shift when things get more confined. It’s the kind of detail that makes Jeff’s approach so valuable.
The atmosphere was spot-on – high energy, plenty of graft, and a lot of laughs. Jeff’s wit made sure no one got too comfortable, and the sessions kept us on our toes throughout.
Massive thanks to everyone who came to train, and of course to Jeff for another memorable seminar. Already looking forward to the next one.
Details for next year’s event will be announced soon – keep an eye on our socials and newsletter for updates.
